Ukraine Refugee Crisis

6th Apr 2022

Machrihanish Airbase Community Company (MACC) has offered its help and use of its facilities to Argyll & Bute Council and partner agencies to help Ukrainian refugees fleeing the atrocities of the war in their country.

MACC Chairman, Cameron McNair, “The board of MACC is overwhelmingly supportive of using the facilities and assets on the former NATO airbase to assist with the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. Details are unclear at this point of when refugees are expected in Argyll & Bute and how many will require our assistance, but we are here to assist and are liaising with Argyll & Bute Council to establish how best we can help.”

If there are any local groups in the Campbeltown area that are collecting essential items for the Ukraine crisis then please get in touch with the MACC office if temporary storage is required.
