 Innes Boyd

Innes was born and raised on the Isle of Tiree, before joining the Army as a Royal Engineer. Innes completed 24 years of diverse and challenging Service, before leaving as a Warrant officer in 2019. He went on to start a new career as a Financial Crime Investigations Manager, and currently works remotely from Kintyre. Innes and Joyce moved to Kintyre in 2020 as they love the outdoors, and could see the opportunities Kintyre offers.

 
Andrew HemmingsAndrew Hemmings

Andrew is a retired area manager having worked for the national charity Turning Point for 17 years. He was responsible for helping people with mental health, learning disabilities and alcohol/drug related problems in parts of the Greater Manchester area. Prior to this he was a Psychiatric Nurse Specialist at Oldham and District General Hospital. Andrew, who is now based at the Sound of Kintyre, the village that neighbours the airbase, is also a former chair of Campbeltown Community Council.

 
Archie MillarArchie Millar

Archie was born and raised on the family farm of Ballygreggan where he returned to after qualifying as a tv engineer, he ran the family farm until 2020 when it was sold due to health reasons. A keen footballer he played for a number of years for the local team and still takes an interest in the current setup. Along with his wife Tracy they own two shops in Campbeltown and also run a successful holiday apartment as well as a part time driving job to keep himself busy.

 
Rory ColvilleRory Colville

Farming and the rural community have been the main drivers in Rory’s life . Together with his late wife Rory farmed Langa in Partnership where the main enterprise was Suckler cows and breeding sheep , during that period Rory played an active part in many farming and rural activities . Elected to Argyll and Bute Council in 2003 Rory had a particular interest in Planning and civic government matters and held a number of senior roles in Local Government. Now retired Rory has a keen interest in Bee keeping and DIY .

 
John BeveridgeJohn Beveridge

John (Johnny) Beveridge is a native of Campbeltown. He worked for forty five years in hospitality mainly in the Middle and Far East for Hyatt International. Prior to semi retiring home to Kintyre he was Area Director for Hyatt Hotels in Dubai. Currently on the board of Malaysia based Ormond Hotels Johnny also runs a B and B in Machrihanish.

 
 Patrick Prosser

Patrick Prosser has a BSc in Computer Science and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence. He is an honorary lecturer in the School of Computing Science, University of Glasgow. He has worked with Alcan Plate (shop floor reporting and factory scheduling), BT {workforce management), Pirelli and ILOG (vehicle routing) and Total (oil field simulation). His research interests are Constraint Programming, Algorithmics and why some computational problems are easy and some computational problems are hard. Patrick is a born and bred Weegie, splitting his time equally between the West End of Glasgow and the Sound of Kintyre.

 
David CookDavid Cook

After a career in Research & Development and Product Development Dave retired and moved to South Kintyre. His areas of specialism were Material Science, Electrochemistry and Electronics, though he also worked in areas as diverse as Optics, Medical and High Voltage Power Systems. Dave is married, has two “grown-up boys” and two Border Terriers. His hobbies include gardening, DIY and walking / birdwatching. He also continues to experiment in areas of laser material processing, opto-electronics and additive manufacturing.

 
Jane CacketteJane Cackette

Jane left home in Tanzania to attend university in London and spent the rest of her working life there. She began her career in the financial services sector as a credit analyst, and then retrained as a lawyer. She spent the latter years working for the Financial Conduct Authority (the regulator).
Jane and her husband, Jim, (originally from Glasgow), made regular visits to his cottage in Kintyre and were happy to retire here in 2015. Jane is a keen amateur gardener but also wanted to put her professional skills to good use for the community, and she is glad to be able to help out as company secretary to the MACC Board.
